Please join us on this lovely wrap around porch painted in gray with walls of muted green, trim and columns in a light yellow and navy shutters. The front door, original, was faux painted over white to look like wood, while the side panels were marbelized in light blue and gold. A vinyl covering was applied to the beveled glass to provide privacy. Both a brass knocker and a ceramic Welcome sign were added.

Front Hall ...

Upon entering the home, one is greeted by the front entry hall with a "Tromp d'oeil" hand painted "rug" on the refinished original wooden flooring. It was painted by hand with five shades of green, yellow, and blue for the leaves with another six coats of polyurethane on top.

An expecially handsome feature of the home is this gourmet kitchen boasting an Italian gas range with electric oven, pot filler and marble topped island.
Granite countertops in black, antique white cabinets, semi circular window, stainless steel sink, and travertine backsplash are some of the feattures that make this kitchen desirable. There is plenty of lighting to work by, including matching original 1920's fixtures that were refurbished and moved from their former location in the formal parlor and dining room.

Guest Bedroom/Studio Workroom ... formerly the family eating room attached to kitchen

This large room is attached to the kitchen and would have been the informal dining area for the family. However, we wanted two ground floor bedrooms each with private bath, one as a master and one as a guest bedroom, and so we used this space for the guest bedroom slash hobby room, complete with cozy fireplace (electric logs). The floor is painted wood and walls are insulated with an air flow passage to prevent rot.

Guest Bathroom ... formerly part of an uncovered boardwalk to the separate kitchen

When the house was built, the kitchen was separate from the main living area due to the chance of fire in the kitchen. This bathroom was added in the space between the house and the old kitchen which used to be open space. Vanity is vintage with a large storage area. Sink is a waterfall. Intricate tile in shower/tub was done by homeowner. Tub is original to house from about the 1940's and has been re-enameled.

Half Bath off kitchen ... new construction

In the "back 40" is this highly "wabbited" half bath with ornate vintage cabinet, gold ceramic sink, wainscoating and high baseboard, beveled mirror and three 1920's lights above the mirror.

The home has three separate heating and air conditioning units. These double doors close off the front portion of the house which can save on electric and gas costs. The upstairs is on its own zoned system.
Staircase decorated for Christmas, each step was painted a stripe of gold as a safety feature on its edge, the bottom one having a more frills design and then given six coats of polyurethane.

This upstairs room was smoked out and plaster was falling off the walls ...

The house originally had three bedrooms upstairs with no bathrooms or closets upstairs. We took the middle bedroom, the one in this photo which had been smoked out and possibly burned, and divided it in half creating two bathrooms with attached closets. It's easy to identify the fireplace in this "before" photo with the "after" photo below.

Private bathroom for bedroom no. 2 with muraled shower. Sink wall is tiled with travertine. Ceiling is unpainted beadboard.
The blue are arms of ocean water playing on travertine piano keys as denoted by the three - two - three - two abstract keys. The meaning is sound + waves = music, and music is the international language that will bring peace to the world. Thus, the mural signifies and is titled: "World Peace Cometh". It took about six months to complete and each piece was cut with a wet saw.
